Fender duo sonic white11/28/2023 The pickguard is a beautiful mint green, and I wish the pick-ups were MD parchment, as they would look better than the whites on the guitar. Another key difference is that since the bridge is much closer to neck pocket due to the scale length, my picking hand will fall naturally closer to the bridge than in the strat. And the guitar is noticeably lighter than the strat. The contour body of a strat is more comfortable, but the duo sonic body has well rounded edges and is quite comfortable sitting or standing. Although the body shape looks like a strat, it feels more like a tele (or what I think a tele feels like, as I last played one long ago). This is where the Strat/Tele mix gets interesting. Overall, a great neck, and one of the highlights of this guitar. The tuners are good quality, and I have no issues keeping or changing the tuning. The finish on the edges is not as smooth as the strat, and sliding the left hand up and down the neck do not feel as smooth. The frets are medium jumbo, and they are taller than the strat’s. The neck has a nice satin finish, similar to the strat, but in this case the strat finish is better. The neck is a very comfortable C profile, a bit thicker in the middle than my strat, and I like the duo sonic profile a little bit more. All of a sudden those blues shuffles got easier to do, more comfortable to my hands. If you want to have an idea of the scale length, put a capo on the first fret of your strat or tele and tune down that first fret to standard tuning. I have small hands, and I was very happy when Fender re-launched this duo sonic. If you find the review to be too long, jump to the conclusion. In my mind, the duo sonic is an ingenious mix of stratocaster and telecaster, adding a short scale to the recipe, and that was the big draw for me. I am an amateur / learner player, and these are just my opinions. My case of GAS is mild, so I’m not buying all of them Well, maybe an Epiphone Casino soon, but that’s another story. I have an American Standard Stratocaster maple neck in the avatar, and thought of buying a Telecaster as well as a few other guitars. I bought it because I wanted a short scale guitar. Since I didn’t see many reviews of them after its launch, I decided to write this. The '58 is mostly original except for the pickups which are modern replicas by The Creamery here in Manchester.I bought a Red Fender Duo Sonic a few months ago. The pickup in that one is a Japanese Mustang one. The '63 body had a terrible refinish with some Olympic White in the neck pocket, but I decided to go with a Sherwood Green for the restoration. My two are both player grade originals, one with a 1958 neck date and features and the other a '63 Musicmaster. But they play great and sound good, and it's my favourite Fender body style to sit with. Most of that didn't really bother me although I wish they'd gone for Kluson types for the tuners instead of the ugly MIM standard style. They're a long way removed from the vintage ones with the longer 24" scale, three ply guard and they're much heavier than any original I've played. The price point seems fair being in mind the cost of an MIM Jag or JM and the fact they're never going to sell anywhere near as many of these as they will Strats and Teles. The one with the humbucker looked great with the metallic surf green finish. I've played the new ones and think they're great for the money, although I thought the pick of the bunch was the P90 Mustang which had a lovely warm sound.

Certified Mail: A type of mail that requires a signature of the recipient at time of delivery. Eviction Suit: A formal legal action taken by a landlord to remove a tenant from their property. Breach: To fail to fulfill a duty or obligation. Process Server: A person who delivers court papers such as a Notice to Quit to individuals. Agent: Someone who is authorized to act on someone else’s behalf. Notice to Quit: A document that notifies a tenant of the landlord’s intention to end the tenancy agreement. If you’re looking for step-by-step guidance on creating your own ‘notice-to quit’ or simply wish want explore our community template library further then read on below… no account required! Definitions (feel free to skip) Genie AI understands this better than anyone else – millions of data points have gone into teaching our AI what a “market-standard” notice looks like allowing users - with no legal background - access free high quality templates needed for this document without having pay for expensive lawyers or solicitors fees. In short then, whilst legally binding documents like Notice To QUit may seem overwhelming they exist foremostly as protection for both parties involved – whilst protecting tenant rights they also streamline eviction processes and thus ensure landlords don’t have enough headache due navigating extensive court processes all because proper notice wasn’t given. Of course, there are several best practices one should follow even if not necessarily legally obliged taking extra steps such as providing multiple copies via writing removes any doubt or ambiguity surrounding intentions and furthermore, ensuring these are delivered on time gives tenants enough time frame within which they can contest said expulsion if need be. It should also come as no surprise that there are certain legal requirements which must be adhered too when providing Notice to Quit some states require tenants receive upwards of 30 days’ warning prior to court eviction proceedings being filed and furthermore, language used must match that stipulated in the rental agreement itself otherwise landlords may face consequences for non-compliance. Not only does this document protect landlords from having to go through lengthy court proceedings in order to evict a tenant but by supplying notice ahead of time this also ensures that any party involved has access to all necessary information regarding said tenancy. This allows tenants time to prepare for their departure while also affording them an opportunity to address any breaches of their tenancy agreement such as unpaid rent or other violations. Notice to Quit plays a multitude of roles in the legal proceedings surrounding lease termination firstly, it provides written confirmation of the landlord’s intention to terminate the lease agreement. As such, it is critical that both tenants and landlords understand why Notice to Quit matters and how it should be handled. This is an official written notification of the landlord’s intention to end the tenancy and can be vital in initiating the eviction process. When it comes to ending a tenancy agreement, nothing is more important than providing the tenant with a Notice to Quit. Note: Want to skip the guide and go straight to the free templates? Atlanta braves fried11/28/2023 The next month, on August 20, Fried underwent Tommy John surgery he missed the remainder of the 2014 season. Fried was injured for much of the year and did not make his season debut until July. In 2014, he was ranked the Padres' top pitching prospect, and their No. He was also named an Padres Organization All Star, and Baseball America ranked his curveball as the best in the Padres' minor league system. At the end of the year, Fried was ranked the 43rd-best prospect in the minors by MLBPipeline. He played for the Fort Wayne TinCaps in 2013 where he compiled a 6–7 record and 3.49 ERA in 23 starts. San Diego Padres (2012–2014) įried made his professional debut for the Arizona League Padres in 2012 and spent the whole season there, going 0–1 with a 3.57 ERA in 17.2 innings pitched. Baseball America rated him the top left-hander available in the draft. Fried chose to sign with the Padres for $3 million despite his commitment to the UCLA Bruins baseball team. The San Diego Padres selected Fried in the first round with the seventh overall selection of the 2012 Major League Baseball draft. He was a 2012 Rawlings-Perfect Game 1st Team All-American. In 2012, his senior year, Fried was 8–2 with a 2.02 ERA, and 105 strikeouts in 66 innings. Īfter Montclair Prep cut its baseball team subsequent to his junior year, Fried then transferred to Harvard-Westlake School in Los Angeles, where he wore uniform number 32 in honor of Sandy Koufax and played with fellow future MLB pitchers Lucas Giolito and Jack Flaherty. He was named the 2011 Southern California Jewish Sports Hall of Fame Male High School Athlete of the Year. In his junior year Fried was 7–3 with a 1.31 ERA, with 100 strikeouts in 69 innings, as he also played outfield and batted. Max began attending the Reggie Smith Baseball Academy in Encino, California, at the age of seven, and learned how to throw a curveball from the retired outfielder. His younger brother Jake, also a pitcher, attended the University of Arizona. In 2022 he was named an All Star, and won his third consecutive Gold Glove Award at pitcher.įried was born and grew up in Santa Monica, California, the middle son of Carrie and Jonathan Fried, and is Jewish. He was also named to the All-MLB Team those two years. In 2021, he won the Gold Glove Award again, as well as the Silver Slugger Award for pitchers, becoming the third pitcher in MLB history to win both awards in the same year. In 2020, Fried won the NL Gold Glove Award at pitcher and the Fielding Bible Award at pitcher. Fried pitched 6 shut-out innings in the final game of the 2021 World Series against the Houston Astros, helping lead the Braves to their first World Series title in 26 years. Through 2021, Fried was second in win–loss percentage of Braves career leaders, at. His 17 wins in 2019 were 2nd-most in the National League, and his seven wins in 2020 were again 2nd-most in the NL. Drafted in 2012 by the San Diego Padres in the first round, seventh overall, Fried made his major league debut in 2017. With these two returning after the All-Star break, they will be able to take pressure off of the lineup and Spencer Strider, boosting the Braves through the rest of the season.Max Dorian Fried ( / ˈ f r iː d/ FREED born January 18, 1994) is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Atlanta Braves of Major League Baseball (MLB). These two signs of improvement will look to solidify Atlanta’s rotation down the stretch of the season. This leaves the Braves, Wright, and Braves fans without an exact timetable for his return though, as this program is likely to be built around how Wright feels day to day. He has been cleared to begin his throwing program now. Wright has a spot in the Braves rotation, but his 2023 plans were altered when he was sent to the IL with right shoulder inflammation.īut Wright has taken a huge step forward in terms of returning to the field. Kyle Wright didn’t begin the season as well as Fried did, but he has proven to be quality starter in the past, including an incredible 21-win campaign in 2022. Max Fried, Kyle Wright showing encouraging signs for imminent returns The timetable on Fried continues to be conservative, as the Braves eye a return post-All-Star break. Max Fried (forearm strain) is throwing off mound, hasn’t faced hitters. No timetable for return, but obviously a significant step. Kyle Wright (shoulder inflammation) has been cleared to begin throwing program.

What is omnifocus pro11/28/2023 The trends for iPadOS apps are starting to shift to adopting more Mac-like experiences. I think the current iPad app has the most potential for improvement – as it shares its user interface with the iPhone, rather than the Mac. My designs take the latter approach – but I recognize that's not necessarily going to be popular.įocus on the iPad. On the other hand, I think Omni is leaving some opportunities on the table to create strong stances on how the program ought to be used. On the one hand, it's wonderful as a user to be able to tweak the program to look and behave how I like. As mentioned above, The Omni Group has a track record of listening to its users and often implementing features, or providing options wherever possible. While my primary focus is not on features of the app, there are a few areas I wanted to contribute to.Ĭreate an opinionated design. The goal is not strictly to design the "Big Sur" or "iOS 14" versions of OmniFocus.Įxplore opportunities for improving the user flow where possible. I want to narrow that gap.Įmploy best practices from Apple's Human Interface Guidelines for each platform, while maintaining consistency and keeping the Omni brand in mind. Currently there is a significant gap between the user experience on iPhone and iPad when compared to Mac. The answer, it turns out, is not so simple.ĭesign a consistent UX that scales from iOS, to iPadOS, to macOS. So I wanted to see what it might take to re-imagine the OmniFocus suite of apps. As popular competitors like Things win acclaim for their clean, modern appearance, OmniFocus – for all of its power – appears stuck in another time period. Whether it's multiple contexts (now tags), batch editing on iOS, floating time zone support ( likely thanks to CGP Grey), or collaborative tasks (soon? please?) – all of these started as user requests.īut lately there has been a growing demand for the company to rethink the user experience and interface of OmniFocus. And to Omni's credit: they seem to listen. This is, of course, nonsense.īut occasionally trends appear in the cacophonous feature request threads on Omni's Forums. And you feel that somehow you understand the tool better than other people, including the developers themselves. You start to have ideas for new features – features that would, of course, suit you. It’s easy to develop a sense of entitlement when you use a tool for so long. Originally designed around the Getting Things Done methodology, and now on its third major version, OmniFocus has grown to be one of the most feature-rich task managers on any platform – far surpassing the common, but inadequate title of a to-do list.Īs an OmniFocus fan for nearly a decade I can sympathize with the strong opinions that grow out of being a heavy user of something. Perhaps Omni's most popular product is OmniFocus – a rich suite of task manager applications for macOS, iOS, iPadOS and web. It's the classic "Adobe" issue: Never remove, only add. This means any significant changes that Omni makes risk alienating those users – who trust and demand the most from these tools. And when you consider that many of their products are pro-grade, best-of-class examples in each of their categories, you end up with not just passionate users, but demanding ones. Omni's focus on products and platforms for which they clearly have a passion in turn engenders a lot of the same passion and love from their userbase. There are few developers that have as rich of a history as The Omni Group with a product line that can trace its roots back to the earliest days of Mac OS X, Rhapsody, and even NeXTSTEP.

Superliminal exit door puzzle11/28/2023 Superliminal's short demo sticks to the basics: introducing the size-changing puzzles and the setting. The current demo is less adventurous in puzzle design than the tech demo from 2014, which I suspect means that all the best puzzles are being saved for release. I just wonder what Superliminal is like in full swing. With the positive reception of Control this year, it seems we aren't worn out yet on the surreal being treated as mundane by shady companies and bureaucratic entities. Superliminal carries a classic Portal-like vibe of outsmarting a system designed to trap you with a similar dry humor, a comparison that could easily be either vindicating or damning seeing how many games have gone the weird facility and wry narration route. "If you do happen to see your parents, please punch them in the face as hard as you can and immediately run away," he says quite calmly. In one, he cautions me not to interact with anything that seems "psychologically significant." In case that isn't clear enough, he provides a colorful example. I'm now routinely climbing out of rooms with colored walls and smooth jazz into dark and forbidding back halls filled with the whoosh of air through industrial ducts and the occasional tape from Dr. Other Rubik's cubes are the caps to long pillars that I can push and pull out of the floor and walls.ĭoes my character have some preoccupation with Rubik's cubes haunting them in their sleep? Are the little rainbow puzzles a standard part of iLids protocol? The recurring elements are amusing when you attempt to take them at face value, but like any good puzzle game, Superliminal is teaching me its language and its rules by making each new challenge familiar but slightly different from the last. Another Rubik's cube falls apart when I touch it, turning into a pile of multicolored blocks. I pick up a Rubik's cube and find it's cut in half. The puzzles quickly become more abstract than before. "Please assist us by finding your way out of this dream without assistance." Meaning me, apparently lost in my own dreams. Glen Pierce informs me that "we" have no idea where "you" are. An early '00s boom box sits on one of the ducts, flashing red. I'm in the service hallways of the buildings now, surrounded by brick, concrete, and thick round ventilation ducts. In the next room, a block hides an open doorway boarded over with planks that I pull off and discard. In one hallway a window shows a room stuffed full of alarm clocks so tightly they're pressed against the glass all reading "12:05 AM." The jazz feels ominous now. It's a pleasant backtrack, until things start to get strange, that is. Unassuming piano jazz plays over the speakers while I pick up and put down all the toys provided for me in each room. Glen PierceĪ prerecorded woman's voice tells me over the intercom that this set of rooms is my introductory tutorial to the Interactive Lucid Dream State (yes, that's iLids). If you do happen to see your parents, please punch them in the face as hard as you can and immediately run away. If this is the tutorial, I can't imagine how complex it'll get later on. I do the same with the second block, stack them like a set of stairs, and climb out. When I drop it, it's almost as tall as I am. I pick up a block and hold it near my face so it appears half the size of the opposite wall. In another room there's nothing but a set of small wooden alphabet blocks and an exit about ten feet off the ground on the opposite wall. A giant chess piece blocks an entire hallway, so I pick it up while standing far away and put it down closer to myself, cutting its size in half. The first few rooms, all with the same austere color scheme, introduce me to the rules of the dreamland with some forced perspective puzzles, covering these basic principles.
